Jubin envisions the park as a spot for hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking - maybe even disc golf. The park's size alone makes it a valuable resource, said David Todd, the conservancy's board treasurer. The conservancy has been organizing trail clearings, trash pickups, plant and bird censuses, prairie mowing, master planning and similar efforts. An exhibit of the entries opened on Earth Day at the Houston Museum of Natural Science Sugar Land, 13016 University Blvd. Conservancy members hope to hear from the surrounding community, too, from area residents to municipalities, businesses and nonprofit organizations. The conservancy also will need more financial support as it moves forward with planning and restoration efforts, Jubin added.
