The delays are affecting the route which runs from Taunton passing through Bristol Temple Meads, Stapleton Road, Filton Abbey Wood, Patchway, Severn Tunnel Junction, Newport and Cardiff.
The delays, caused by equipment problems at Patchway, will continue until further notice.
